The Marina del Rey Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) district office is at 4720 Lincoln Boulevard, 2nd Floor, Marina del Rey, CA 90292, phone (310) 482-3820. The California Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) lists this office for workers' compensation hearings in the area it covers, based on where the injured worker lives, was hurt, or has legal representation. A ZIP code locator can point you toward this office, but it does not decide venue by itself. Check your hearing notice, or ask your claims administrator, to confirm which office actually has your case.

The Marina del Rey WCAB district office is where the California Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) hears workers' compensation disputes venued in the area this office covers under state law. It is a state hearing office, not a private law firm, and Yazdchi Law does not operate out of it.

DWC publishes the contact details and hours below for this location. Hours and access rules can change, so confirm anything time sensitive on DWC's own Marina del Rey office page before you rely on it.

Which cases go to this office?

A case is heard at the Marina del Rey office when the injured worker's home, the place of injury, or the worker's attorney's main office falls in the area DWC assigns here. DWC's own ZIP code records route 71 California ZIP codes to this office.

California Labor Code section 5501.5 sets the actual filing rule, not a ZIP code search by itself. The law lets an injured worker file a claim in the county where they live on the filing date, the county where the injury happened (or, for a cumulative injury, where the last harmful exposure occurred), or the county where their attorney keeps a main office, when they have one:

(a) The application for adjudication of claim shall be filed in any of the following locations: (1) In the county where the injured employee or dependent of a deceased employee resides on the date of filing.

This rule has stood since 1990 with no later amendment. Our guide to Labor Code 5501.5 and filing venue walks through all three filing options in more depth, and our page on the WCAB's exclusive jurisdiction explains why the board, rather than a regular court, decides a workers' compensation claim at all.

The DWC ZIP code locator is a useful starting point, not a venue ruling. DWC itself warns that its Disability Evaluation Unit appointments do not always match what the locator shows, so always confirm a specific hearing or rating appointment against your own written notice.

Based on DWC's ZIP code listing, this office serves these Los Angeles County communities (our pages for each one cover local filing steps in plain language):

What happens there?

DWC runs two units at this address, the Disability Evaluation Unit and the Information and Assistance Unit, and its judges hold conferences and trials here.

The Disability Evaluation Unit (DEU) rates permanent disability by reviewing medical reports of a worker's impairment, through formal, consultative, or summary ratings depending on who asks and whether the claim is in litigation. The Information and Assistance (I&A) Unit answers general questions about rights, benefits, and forms for a worker who does not have a lawyer; it does not act as anyone's attorney. DWC's statewide information line is 1-800-736-7401.

A judge may set a case for a status conference, a mandatory settlement conference, a priority conference, a lien conference, an expedited hearing, or a trial if the case does not settle. This office also holds a free injured worker workshop on Zoom each month: 3 p.m. on the first Friday in English, and 3 p.m. on the third Friday in Spanish. DWC can change that schedule, so confirm current dates on its own Marina del Rey page before you plan around one.

Can you attend by video or phone?

Yes, for most conferences. DWC moved status conferences, mandatory settlement conferences, priority conferences, and lien conferences to its CourtCall Video Platform starting March 3, 2025, while trials stay in person.

Each judge keeps a virtual courtroom on CourtCall, and every courtroom also has a call-in number for a party who cannot use video. DWC posts current access details on your hearing notice and on its Virtual Courtroom Resources page. Do not reuse a link or number from an earlier hearing; always use the one tied to your current notice.

How do you get there and park?

DWC says paid parking is available in the building for $15.50 a day, and a cheaper city lot sits nearby on Mindanao Way.

Visitors must park in the building's paid lot and may not use its retail-only spaces. The Marina del Rey parking lot number 4 on Mindanao Way runs about $6 to $8 a day, according to DWC's own page. That same page links current Metro transit routes, schedules, and fares, plus driving directions, rather than printing details that can go out of date.

What should you bring?

Bring the hearing notice or letter DWC sent you, a photo ID, and any documents that notice asks for.

If you are dropping off paperwork in person for a walk-through instead of mailing it, DWC expects that paperwork to meet title 8 of the California Code of Regulations, section 10417(c). Walk-through hours at this office are 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you need a disability accommodation for a hearing or workshop, call DWC's statewide accommodations line at 1-866-681-1459 as early as you can.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the WCAB office for Marina del Rey?

The office is at 4720 Lincoln Boulevard, 2nd Floor, Marina del Rey, CA 90292, phone (310) 482-3820, as DWC lists it. Court is in session from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The lobby opens about 30 minutes before the morning session and stays open five days a week, except holidays.

Which cities does this WCAB office cover?

DWC's official ZIP code listing routes 71 ZIP codes to this office, covering Marina del Rey and nearby cities such as Santa Monica, Culver City, Inglewood, Hawthorne, Redondo Beach, and Malibu. The specific office for a given case still turns on the facts of the claim, not on a city name alone.

Does the DWC ZIP code locator decide where my case will be heard?

No. The locator is a lookup tool, not a venue ruling, and DWC itself notes that its Disability Evaluation Unit locations do not always match what the locator shows. Venue is set by Labor Code section 5501.5 and the facts of your claim. Check your hearing notice or ask your claims administrator if you are unsure which office has your case.

Can I appear at a hearing here by video?

Most conferences, including status conferences, mandatory settlement conferences, priority conferences, and lien conferences, now run on DWC's CourtCall Video Platform. Trials and expedited hearings are still held in person. Your hearing notice or DWC's Virtual Courtroom Resources page will have the current access details for your judge's courtroom.

What should I bring to a hearing or walk-through at this office?

Bring your hearing notice or letter, a photo ID, and any documents it requests. Paperwork dropped off for a walk-through should meet title 8 of the California Code of Regulations, section 10417(c), during walk-through hours of 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Is parking available at this WCAB office?

Yes. DWC says paid parking is available in the building for $15.50 a day, and the nearby Marina del Rey lot number 4 on Mindanao Way runs about $6 to $8 a day. DWC's page also lists Metro transit routes and driving directions for visitors who are not parking themselves.

Does Yazdchi Law have an office at this WCAB location?

No. Yazdchi Law P.C.'s only office is in Palmdale, and the phone number DWC lists for this office reaches DWC, not our firm.
