California has 23 WCAB locations, formally called district offices, and each one hears the workers' compensation cases that state law sends there. This page lists every office's street address, phone number, and official DWC page in one table. The DWC ZIP code locator can show which office usually serves an address, but it does not decide where your case is legally venued. Check your hearing notice, or call the office listed on it, to confirm which one has your case.
Where are California's WCAB district offices?
California has 23 WCAB district offices, and the table below lists the address, phone number, and official DWC page for each one.
The Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) is the state court that hears disputed California workers' compensation cases. The Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) manages each courtroom and publishes the current address and phone number for every location on its own site. Our guide to the WCAB explains what the board does and how a case reaches it. This page focuses on where the offices are and how to use that information.
Every address and phone number below comes from the matching official DWC office page, checked October 14, 2026. DWC updates these pages when an office moves or a number changes. Use the official link in the table to confirm current details before you rely on them for a hearing.
Yazdchi Law P.C.'s only office is in Palmdale, and the firm has no office at any location listed below. Call (661) 273-1780 or use the contact form to ask whether the firm can review a California workers' compensation matter. The firm looks at each case individually.

How do I find the WCAB office for my address?
Enter your ZIP code into the DWC's own locator tool, but treat the result as a starting point, not a final answer.
The DWC ZIP code locator lets you type in a five digit ZIP code and see which district office generally handles filings from it. DWC also says its Disability Evaluation Unit offices do not all line up with the locator result. A medical rating appointment can sit at a different office than a hearing. The locator is useful for routing paperwork. It does not rule on where a specific case belongs. The next section explains what controls that.
What legally decides which WCAB office handles my case?
Venue comes from Labor Code section 5501.5, not a ZIP code. It usually follows where you live, where you were hurt, or where your attorney's office sits.
The application for adjudication of claim shall be filed in any of the following locations: (1) In the county where the injured employee or dependent of a deceased employee resides on the date of filing.
Two more filing locations come from the same subdivision, in plain terms here. A claim may also be filed in the county where the injury happened. For a cumulative trauma or occupational disease claim, it may be filed where the worker's last harmful exposure happened. If the worker has a lawyer, the claim may instead be filed in the county where that lawyer's main office sits. When the chosen county has more than one WCAB office, the application goes to whichever of those offices fits one of the rules above. When none of the qualifying counties has a WCAB office at all, the law sends the case to the nearest office that does. None of this turns on a ZIP code search; it turns on residence, injury location, exposure history, and representation.
In practice, the nearest office is often correct, but not always. Consider a worker who lives in one county, was hurt in another, and has a lawyer based in a third county. That worker may have more than one lawful option. A hearing notice you already received names the office handling your case. If you have not received one, our Los Angeles versus Pomona WCAB guide walks through how this plays out between one real pair of neighboring offices. The WCAB exclusive jurisdiction page explains why the board, rather than a regular court, decides the claim in the first place.
Can I attend a WCAB hearing by video or phone?
Most conferences now run on DWC's CourtCall video platform, while trials stay in person.
DWC moved status conferences, mandatory settlement conferences, priority conferences, and lien conferences from telephone lines to the CourtCall Video Platform starting March 3, 2025. Each judge has a virtual courtroom on that platform, and every courtroom keeps a call in option for a party who cannot use video. Trials, lien trials, and expedited hearings are still set in person at the office handling the case. Courtroom access links and conference details change hearing to hearing and are posted with each notice, so this page does not list them. Use the official DWC Virtual Courtroom Resources page or the instructions on your own notice instead.
What does the Information and Assistance Unit do?
Every office above includes a free help desk for general claim questions, which DWC calls Information and Assistance.
DWC's own office pages list an Information and Assistance Unit, often shortened to I&A, inside each of the 23 locations in the table above. This I&A Unit answers general questions about the claims process for a worker who does not have a lawyer. It does not act as anyone's attorney, and it does not argue a case. For a broader question that is not specific to one office, DWC also runs a statewide Information Services Center at 1-800-736-7401. Either resource is a reasonable first call when a form or notice is unclear.
If you want a lawyer to look at the claim itself, rather than general guidance, see the next section.

Still unsure which office applies, or want a lawyer to review your claim?

Yazdchi Law P.C. represents injured workers in California workers' compensation claims and WCAB proceedings from its office in Palmdale. The firm has no office at any WCAB location and reviews each matter individually before deciding whether to take it on. Frequently Asked Questions
How many WCAB district offices does California have?
California has 23 WCAB district offices. Each one is run by the Division of Workers' Compensation and hears the workers' compensation cases that state law assigns to it. The table above lists the address, phone number, and official DWC page for every one.
Does the DWC ZIP code locator decide which office has my case?
No. The locator shows which office usually serves a given ZIP code, which helps with general questions and paperwork. It does not decide legal venue. Venue follows Labor Code section 5501.5, which looks at where you live, where you were hurt, or where your attorney's office is.
What if my hearing notice already names an office?
Follow the hearing notice. It reflects the venue decision already made for your case. If something about the notice is unclear, call the office listed on it or ask its I&A Unit (the next question explains what that unit does).
Is the Disability Evaluation Unit always at the same office as my hearing?
Not necessarily. DWC says its Disability Evaluation Unit offices do not all line up with the ZIP code locator result, so a medical rating appointment can sit at a different office than a hearing. Check the notice for each appointment rather than assuming they match.
Can I handle a WCAB hearing by video instead of traveling to the office?
Often yes. Since March 3, 2025, DWC has run most status conferences, settlement conferences, priority conferences, and lien conferences on its CourtCall Video Platform. Trials and expedited hearings are still held in person. Your hearing notice or the DWC Virtual Courtroom Resources page will say which format applies to your date.
What does the I&A Unit do, and is it the same as having a lawyer?
The I&A Unit answers general questions about the claims process for a worker who does not have an attorney. It is free, but it does not represent anyone or argue a case. A lawyer reviews the specific facts of your claim and can advocate for you; the I&A Unit does not.
I'm not sure which office covers my city. What should I do first?
Start with the DWC ZIP code locator or your own hearing notice if you have one. If you still are not sure, or you want help with the claim itself rather than just the paperwork, call Yazdchi Law P.C. at (661) 273-1780 or use the contact form, and the firm will look at the facts of your case.
