The San Diego district office of California's Workers' Compensation Appeals Board sits at 7575 Metropolitan Drive, Suite 202, San Diego, CA 92108, phone 619-767-2083, as the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) lists it. It holds WCAB hearings for workers' comp cases filed in San Diego and the surrounding area under Labor Code section 5501.5, and it also houses the Disability Evaluation Unit and the Information and Assistance Unit. Your own hearing notice, or the ZIP code locator DWC publishes online, is the fastest way to confirm this is the office handling your claim.
This office is the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board's hearing location for San Diego area workers' comp disputes. It is a state hearing office, not a private law office, and Yazdchi Law P.C. does not operate out of it or anywhere else in San Diego County.
The California Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) runs this location and publishes its own current address, phone number, and hours. Because those details can change, confirm anything time sensitive on DWC's San Diego office page before you plan around it.

Which cases go to this office?
A workers' comp case lands at this WCAB office when the injured worker's home, the place of injury, or the worker's attorney's main office falls inside the area DWC assigns to this location. DWC's own ZIP code records route 232 California ZIP codes here, including San Diego and the North County and East County communities listed below.
The actual filing rule comes from California Labor Code section 5501.5, not from a ZIP code lookup by itself. A worker can file an application for adjudication of claim in the county where they live on the filing date, the county where the injury happened (or, for a cumulative injury, where the last harmful exposure occurred), or the county where their attorney keeps a main office, when they have one:
The application for adjudication of claim shall be filed in any of the following locations: (1) In the county where the injured employee or dependent of a deceased employee resides on the date of filing.
This filing rule has not changed since it was added in 1990, so it remains current law. Our guide to Labor Code section 5501.5 and filing venue walks through all three filing options in more depth, and our explainer on what the WCAB is and does gives wider context on how a case moves through the board.
DWC's ZIP code locator is a quick starting point, but DWC itself warns that Disability Evaluation Unit appointments do not always match the office its locator shows for a given ZIP code. Treat the locator as a guide and confirm any specific hearing or appointment location against your own written notice.
Based on DWC's ZIP code listing, the office here serves San Diego and these nearby communities. Our pages for each one explain local filing steps in plain language:
What happens at the San Diego WCAB office?
DWC lists two units at this location: the Disability Evaluation Unit and the Information and Assistance Unit. Workers' compensation judges here hold status conferences, settlement conferences, and trials, and the office runs a monthly injured worker workshop.
The Disability Evaluation Unit (DEU) rates permanent disability by reviewing medical reports of a worker's impairment, for both litigated and non-litigated claims. Judges, injured workers, and claims administrators all rely on a DEU rating to work out permanent disability benefits. The Information and Assistance Unit answers general questions about the claims process and can be reached statewide at 1-800-736-7401.
DWC also holds a free injured worker workshop by Zoom at 3 p.m., in English on the first Friday of each month and in Spanish on the third Friday. The workshop explains claim basics and is not a substitute for advice about your own case.
Can you attend a San Diego WCAB hearing by video or phone?
Yes, for most hearing types. DWC moved status conferences, mandatory settlement conferences, priority conferences, and lien conferences statewide to its CourtCall Video Platform, while trials and some other hearings still happen in person.
Each judge has a separate virtual courtroom, and DWC posts the current access link on its Virtual Courtroom Resources page and on your own hearing notice. Those links, and any phone access codes, change by judge and by hearing, so we do not publish them here. Our guide on how DWC publishes judges' virtual courtroom and conference line details explains where to find the current information and what to have ready before you join.
How do you get to the San Diego office, and is there parking?
The office is at 7575 Metropolitan Drive, Suite 202, San Diego, CA 92108. DWC says free parking is available in front of the building, and its office page links out to driving directions and to San Diego's Metropolitan Transit System for bus and trolley riders.
DWC's own page is the most current source for exact directions, since road and transit details change over time. There is no food or drink service inside the building itself, though DWC notes that a shopping center behind it has food options nearby.
What should you bring to a hearing or a walk-through filing?
Bring the hearing notice or appointment letter DWC sent you, a photo ID, and any paperwork that notice asks for. Dropping off a settlement or petition without a scheduled hearing is called a walk-through filing, and it follows its own timing and paperwork rules.
This office accepts walk-through filings from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and again from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A case opening settlement submitted as a walk-through must reach the office by noon the court day before it is acted on, under Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations, section 10789. An attorney typically handles the paperwork and timing for a walk-through settlement or petition.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the San Diego WCAB district office located?
The office is at 7575 Metropolitan Drive, Suite 202, San Diego, CA 92108, phone 619-767-2083, as DWC lists it. Court is in session from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the lobby opens 30 minutes before each session.
Which cities does the San Diego office cover?
DWC's ZIP code listing assigns 232 California ZIP codes to this office, including San Diego, Carlsbad, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, San Marcos, and Vista. That listing is a starting point, not a venue decision, since Labor Code section 5501.5 sets the actual filing rule.
Does DWC's ZIP code locator decide where my case will be heard?
No. The locator is a lookup tool, and DWC itself notes that Disability Evaluation Unit appointments do not always match what the locator shows for a ZIP code. Venue follows Labor Code section 5501.5: the county of the worker's residence, the county of injury, or the county of the worker's attorney's main office.
Can I attend a San Diego WCAB hearing by video or by phone?
Many hearing types now run on DWC's CourtCall Video Platform, including status conferences, settlement conferences, priority conferences, and lien conferences. Trials and some other matters still happen in person. DWC posts each judge's current access link on its Virtual Courtroom Resources page and on your hearing notice.
Is parking available at the San Diego office?
Yes. DWC says free parking is available in front of the building, and its office page links to driving directions and to San Diego's Metropolitan Transit System for bus and trolley riders.
What should I bring to a hearing or a walk-through filing at this office?
Bring your hearing notice or appointment letter and a photo ID. A walk-through settlement or petition, filed without a scheduled hearing, follows its own paperwork and timing rules and is accepted from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Does Yazdchi Law have an office at this WCAB location?
No. Yazdchi Law P.C.'s only office is in Palmdale. The San Diego address above belongs to the Division of Workers' Compensation, not to our firm, and the phone number there reaches DWC staff, not us.
